Yesss, Western pulls off another win against their cross town rivals - when it counted the most, City semi finals. Mark W. you called it for the semi's and now lets see what happens in the City Finals. Defensive pressure through out the entire game was the difference. Great job to both teams and especially to the two all stars, Churchil's Brad Clark and Western's Eli Prochnau.

Maybe they will see each other in Provincials and it might be a different ending. Good luck to all of our Calgary teams in Provincials.

Thank you KRAMMAG for your season's coverage and write-ups. You are awesome!!

I watched this game last week, and the Redmen really showed what style of play wins. They played a fast paced, pressure defense against the Bulldogs, and their guards could not handle that through out the game. And that is what gave the Redmen the edge over Bulldogs. Yes their big men got a lot of rebounds and second chance points but that was only when the guards could get the ball to their big men, which was not too many times in the game. The Redmen will probably meet them in semis and i still choose the Redmen as the favorites to win it all.

Many elements decide victory: skill, strategy, staying-power. Bulldog's coach gave second-string more court time with Western. He's not about home-court ego-- but better preparation for the team. He also avoided potential injury to one of his accident-prone big guys by not playing catch-up. More important games are coming. This loss resulted in a temporary rating-- big deal! Win or lose, these are the dukes for city champs and Churchill will pull out all the stops. Nothing's easier to beat than an over-confident opponent. It could happen....
