The high school wrestling city championships took place on Wednesday and Thursday last week at Jack James High School. The big winners were the Sir Winston Churchill Bulldogs, who captured the women’s team title, and the Bowness Trojans, who won the men’s side of the draw. The normally powerful John G. Diefenbaker Chiefs had an off year, due mainly to an injury bug that plagued the team. The provincial wrestling championship takes place at Forest Lawn High School this coming weekend.
