Senior Girls Selects Roster

The best of the best Calgary high school girls basketball players will duke it out in the annual Calgary High School Basketball Selects Game. Tip-off is at 6pm at Bishop Carroll High School on Wednesday February 10th. Below is the roster.
HOME TEAM
#21 Leigh Nielsen – BISHOP GRANDIN GHOSTS 5’7 Guard/Forward
A three-year starter for the Ghosts, she plays both guard and forward for coaches Janis and David MacDonald.
#13 Kristen Cobb – BOWNESS TROJANS 5’8 Guard/Forward
She is the team’s most consistent scorer and top defender, and leads Coach Sarah Williams’ team by example.
#22 Stephanie Loubardeas – CENTENNIAL COYOTES 5’7 Point Guard
A multi-sport athlete, she is in her third year as starting point guard for Coach Ken Zelez’ team.
#8 Rya Daggett – CENTRAL MEMORIAL RAMS 5’9 Guard
One of the Rams’ top career scorers as a three-year starting senior, she also leads Coach Brian Hutton’s team as a defender.
#10 Aleisha Vaz – DR. E.P. SCARLETT LANCERS 5’9 Guard/Forward
The team captain for the Lancers, she is also involved in provincial club basketball, coached by Jim Bamford.
#15 Kendra Larson – JAMES FOWLER FALCONS 6’0 Post
A hard-working, tenacious and dependable member of the Falcons, she leads Coach Jill Young’s team by example.
#21 Hailly McCallum – JOHN G. DIEFENBAKER CHIEFS 5’9 Post
A shooter who also brings tremendous enthusiasm to her team, coached by Diane Hilko.
#9 Jorddin Torrington – LESTER B. PEARSON PATRIOTS 5’8 Guard/Forward
An aggressive player who loves to compete, she is a key contributor to Coach Steve Krause’s Patriot team.
#4 Salina Drake – QUEEN ELIZABETH KNIGHTS 5’10 Guard
As a starting Point Guard, she leads the Knights in points, rebounds and blocks. Coached by Jeff van Leenen and Stephanie Issler.
#12 Florence Oloya – ST. FRANCIS BROWNS 6’0 Post
Florence is known for her reach and vertical, she is the main rebounding contributor to Coach Alison Van de Laak’s Browns.
#22 Catherine Beaudry – ST. MARTIN DE PORRES KODIAKS 5’10 Post
A three-year starter for the Kodiaks, she has also been a leader in club basketball. Coached by Laura Devine and Russ Chiasson.
#4 Leah Loeppky – ST. TIMOTHY THUNDER 5’5 Guard
Leah leads her team by example, with great determination and hustle, coached by Brent Breit.
#9 Mel Poce – WESTERN CANADA REDMEN 5’5 Guard
A starter and team captain, her shooting and penetration are the key elements for Coach Sheldon Brady’s team.

#15 Danielle McMaster – BISHOP MCNALLY TIMBERWOLVES 5’9 Forward
Known for her pursuit of excellence on and off the court, coached by Ed Arias and is the leading scorer for her team.
#6 Savannah Pearce – BISHOP O’BYRNE BOBCATS 5’7 Guard
An extremely athletic player, she leads with intense defense and a great ability to see the floor, coached by Michael Ryall.
#9 Nyawal Bukjok – CRESCENT HEIGHTS COWBOYS 6’1 Post
Averaging 16 points and 11 rebounds a game, she is the acknowledged leader of her team in all respects, coached by Jenn Woods.
#6 Brooke Taylor – ERNEST MANNING GRIFFINS 5’8 Forward
The team’s leading scorer and rebounder, she has picked up right from her MVP season of last year, coached by Diandra Bridges.
#4 Jordan Sakundiak – FOREST LAWN TITANS 5’5 Point Guard
The Grade 12 leader of the Titans, she excels in ball handling and assists, coached by Terri Nanan.
#8 Jean Tabot – FATHER LACOMBE LASERS 5’8 Forward
A third-year senior and this year’s captain, she excels in hard work, leadership and dedication, coached by Michael Huggins and Pat O’Donoghue.
#1 Laura Belisle – HENRY WISE WOOD WARRIORS 5’3 Guard
The team’s MVP and leader in both scoring and steals, she brings a love of the game and competition to Coach John Atto’s team.
#5 Ashley Owen – LORD BEAVERBROOK LORDS 5’5 Guard
A co-captain of the Lords, she is the “quiet” general of the team and has played through many injuries this season, coached by Jesse Stanford.
#12 Amanda McCullagh – NOTRE DAME PRIDE 5’6 Guard
Highly involved in her school, she is a three-year veteran with the Pride and a standout for Coach Ryan Pauls.
#10 Claire Colborne – ST. MARY’S SAINTS 5’11 Guard
One of the top scorers in Alberta high school basketball, she has also excelled in provincial and national competition, coached by Bill McConkey.
#6 Kaitlyn McHarg – SIR WINSTON CHURCHILL BULLDOGS 5’6 Guard
A multi-sport athlete, her basketball excellence is best seen in her defense and scoring, coached by Brian Adams and Ranbir Parmar.
#9 Jordhynn Guy – WILLIAM ABERHART ORANGE 6’1 Forward
A versatile player who can bring the ball up, play the post or work from the side, coached by Julie Farquhar.
