The top-ranked Notre Dame Pride continued their onslaught on Calgary’s top senior boy’s high school football division on Thursday night.
After a gritty 26-7 victory over the Henry Wise Wood Warriors the Pride improved their record to 4-0 and gained a firm grasp on the top spot in the division.
“I thought it was a good game,” said Pride’s head coach Dave Diluzio. “I thought both teams played really hard and it was a good hard hitting, physical football game.”
The Warriors’ record fell to 3-2 with the loss.
But it wasn’t the offensive or defensive parts of the game that Diluzio was praising after the game, it was their special teams play.

“As crazy as it sound, I think our punt team did a really good job,” said Diluzio. “I thought that we were able to kind of get some good field position with our punt team.”
The Pride looked to be heading for an easy run-away victory early in the game thanks to a couple of first quarter touchdowns by quarterback Jimmy Underdahl and running back Xavier Savery.
But for anybody that’s been paying attention to the Warriors while they’ve been under the tutelage of their coach Cody Ehrmann, they would know that the Warriors will never lay down and concede a game to an opponent.
