KramCast Episode 14 – With John Hegwood

This week’s guest on the KramCast was John Hegwood. Due to the length of the show, we decided to split it into two parts. Click to listen to Part 1 and Part 2 of our interview with Coach Hegwood.

Coach Hegwood is a former All-American high school baller from Gary, Indiana and member of the once-powerful University of San Francisco. His play at the U of S was good enough to get him drafted by the San Diego Clippers (now LA Clippers), which meant that he got to battle some of the greatest players in NBA history, including Dr. J, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and several other hall of famers.

After a stint with the Calgary 88s, coach Hegwood made Calgary his home, and he’s been busy coaching and mentoring many of the players that currently play high school ball Calgary. He is the founder of the CYDC and the Calgary Elite Basketball programs, which has helped churn out several highly-skilled players that have had success in the NCAA, CIS and the ACAC.
